Pup'n'Suds Mobile Dog Grooming
Client Service Agreement & Liability Waiver
Thank you for choosing Pup'n'Suds Mobile Dog Grooming. My goal is to provide a safe, professional, and stress-free grooming experience for both you and your dog. By booking an appointment, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the following terms and conditions.
1. Health Disclosure
The Owner certifies that all information regarding their pet is true, accurate, and complete.
The Owner agrees to disclose any:
- Medical conditions or illnesses
- Allergies or sensitivities
- Medications
- Seizure disorders
- Heart conditions
- Mobility issues
- Pregnancy
- Anxiety or behavioural concerns
- Previous grooming incidents
- Bite history or aggression
- Recent surgeries or injuries
- Vaccination status (if requested)
Failure to disclose relevant information may increase the risk of injury or illness and may limit Pup'n'Suds Mobile Dog Grooming's responsibility for resulting complications.
2. Grooming Risks
The Owner understands that grooming animals involves inherent risks.
Although every reasonable precaution is taken, pets may move unexpectedly during grooming, and minor accidental injuries may occasionally occur despite reasonable care.
Possible risks include:
- Nail quicking
- Minor clipper irritation
- Small nicks or scratches
- Ear irritation
- Temporary redness
- Stress-related reactions
- Allergic reactions to grooming products
3. Matted Coat Release
Severely matted coats can hide underlying medical conditions and may require shaving rather than brushing.
Removing severe matting may reveal or result in:
- Skin irritation
- Cuts
- Bruising
- Hot spots
- Hematomas
- Moisture dermatitis
- Parasites
- Existing infections
The Owner authorizes Pup'n'Suds Mobile Dog Grooming to humanely remove matting using professional judgment.
Additional charges may apply for excessive matting.
Pup'n'Suds Mobile Dog Grooming is not responsible for conditions caused by or revealed due to severe matting.
4. Senior Pets & Medical Conditions
Senior pets, puppies, overweight pets, and pets with medical conditions may experience increased stress during grooming.
For their safety, services may be shortened, modified, or discontinued.
The Owner accepts these increased risks.
5. Aggressive or Difficult Dogs
The Owner agrees to disclose any history of aggression or biting.
Pup'n'Suds Mobile Dog Grooming reserves the right to refuse or discontinue grooming if a pet becomes aggressive or unsafe.
If grooming must stop for safety reasons, charges will apply for services already completed.
Future appointments may be declined or referral to a veterinary groomer may be recommended.
6. Fleas, Ticks & Parasites
If fleas, ticks, lice or other parasites are discovered:
- Grooming may be modified or discontinued.
- Additional sanitation fees may apply.
- Veterinary treatment may be recommended before future appointments.
7. Veterinary Emergency Authorization
If a medical emergency occurs during grooming and the Owner cannot be reached, Pup'n'Suds Mobile Dog Grooming is authorized to seek immediate veterinary treatment deemed necessary.
The Owner agrees to be responsible for all veterinary costs incurred.
8. Liability
Pup'n'Suds Mobile Dog Grooming will exercise reasonable care, professional skill, and sound judgment while grooming every pet.
The Owner understands that grooming carries inherent risks and agrees that Pup'n'Suds Mobile Dog Grooming shall not be responsible for:
- Pre-existing illnesses or injuries
- Undisclosed medical conditions
- Reactions resulting from severe matting
- Conditions resulting from inaccurate or incomplete information supplied by the Owner
- Stress-related complications outside the groomer's reasonable control
Nothing in this Agreement limits or excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded under the laws of Alberta.
9. Mobile Grooming Procedures & Safety Policies
Trailer Access
For the safety of pets, clients, and the groomer, owners, family members, children, and visitors are not permitted inside the grooming trailer unless expressly invited or prior consent has been provided by Pup'n'Suds Mobile Dog Grooming.
Pet Transfer
At the beginning of each appointment, the Owner agrees to either:
- Bring their dog to the grooming trailer on a secure leash or in a secure carrier; or
- Allow the groomer to safely collect the dog from the Owner at the door or another mutually agreed-upon location.
At the completion of the appointment, the groomer will safely return the dog to the Owner.
Dogs will not be released to minors unless prior arrangements have been made.
Owner Presence
Owners are asked not to interrupt or enter the grooming trailer during the appointment unless requested.
Many dogs become excited or anxious when they see their owner, increasing the risk of accidental injury.
Video Recording
For the safety and protection of both pets and the groomer, all grooming appointments may be continuously video and/or audio recorded.
Recordings may be used for:
- Safety
- Quality assurance
- Incident documentation
- Insurance claims
- Legal proceedings where required by law
Recordings remain the property of Pup'n'Suds Mobile Dog Grooming and will be kept confidential except where disclosure is reasonably necessary or required by law.
By booking an appointment, the Owner acknowledges and consents to video and/or audio recording during grooming services.
10. Parking, Property & Pet Transfer Requirements
The Owner agrees to provide a safe, legal, and reasonably level parking location suitable for a fully equipped mobile grooming trailer, with adequate clearance and safe access for both the groomer and the pet.
If sufficient parking is unavailable directly in front of or adjacent to the Owner's property, Pup'n'Suds Mobile Dog Grooming reserves the right to park at the nearest safe and legal location. In these circumstances, the Owner agrees to either:
- Safely bring their dog to the grooming trailer using a secure leash or carrier; or
- Allow the groomer to collect the dog from the Owner at an agreed-upon location and safely return the dog following completion of the grooming appointment.
All dogs must be secured on a properly fitted leash or in a secure carrier before being transferred to or from the grooming trailer. Off-leash transfers are not permitted under any circumstances.
The Owner is responsible for maintaining control of their dog until the groomer has accepted physical custody of the dog. Upon completion of the grooming appointment, responsibility for the dog transfers back to the Owner once the dog has been returned to the Owner or another pre-arranged handoff location.
The Owner assumes responsibility for safely transporting their dog to and from the grooming trailer when they choose to do so. Pup'n'Suds Mobile Dog Grooming is not responsible for injuries, escapes, or incidents that occur before the groomer has accepted custody of the dog or after custody has been returned to the Owner, except where caused by the groomer's negligence or where liability cannot legally be excluded under the laws of Alberta.
If a safe parking location or safe access to the property cannot be provided, the appointment may be rescheduled or cancelled, and applicable travel or cancellation fees may apply.
11. Weather Policy
The safety of pets, clients, and the groomer is the highest priority.
Appointments may be delayed, rescheduled, or cancelled due to severe weather conditions including, but not limited to:
- Extreme cold
- Heavy snowfall
- Ice
- High winds
- Wildfire smoke
- Road closures
- Other unsafe travel conditions
There will be no cancellation fee when appointments must be rescheduled due to unsafe weather conditions.
12. Satisfaction Guarantee
Every effort will be made to achieve the grooming style requested.
If you are dissatisfied with your dog's groom, please notify Pup'n'Suds Mobile Dog Grooming within 24 hours of your appointment.
Reasonable adjustments will be made when appropriate.
Refunds are not provided for completed grooming services.
13. Appointment Cancellation Policy
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.
No-show appointments may also be charged.
Repeated cancellations or missed appointments may require prepayment before future bookings.
14. Payment Policy
Payment is due immediately upon completion of services.
Accepted payment methods will be communicated prior to your appointment.
Outstanding balances may result in refusal of future services.
15. Right to Refuse Service
Pup'n'Suds Mobile Dog Grooming reserves the right to refuse or discontinue services if:
- A pet presents an unreasonable safety risk.
- A pet's medical condition makes grooming unsafe.
- The Owner provides false or incomplete information.
- A pet cannot be safely groomed without causing undue stress.

Charges may apply for services performed prior to discontinuing the appointment.
